Veterans’ Day Tribute & Help JROTC Cadets Travel to Normandy

TREAT A FAVORITE VETERAN & MILITARY FAMILY TO A SPECIAL VETERANS’ DAY!

From November 1-14, partial proceeds of Prelude to Reveille will be donated by S.D. Sawyer to assist Gettysburg JROTC cadets to attend the 70th Anniversary of D-Day Trip to Normandy, France in June, 2014.

One JROTC unit from each of the 50 states was selected to attend by the D-Day anniversary parade and musical salute to veterans committee. Gettysburg High School’s Lt. Col. Michael Wertz said Gettysburg was chosen out of about 50 units to represent the state of Pennsylvania.

Students will participate in a wreath-laying ceremony at the American Cemetery on June 5 and walk in a parade through the streets of St. Mere-Eglise, the first village to be liberated by American troops in 1944, on June 6, 2014.
